This year’s Ta Ta Trot 5K will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 9 a.m., starting and finishing at Pies & Pub at 1 Store Road in Middlebury, Conn. Pies & Pub’s Theo Anastasiadis encourages sponsors and volunteers to call 203-598-7221 to sign up for the race, which raises money for the American Cancer Society.

The American Cancer Society gave a huge thank you to Anastasiadis, Pies & Pub, and everyone who continues to support the fight against breast cancer by running the Ta-Ta Trot. In 2025, the race was resurrected for the first time since the pandemic, and the community’s response was outstanding and truly inspiring. The event raised $21,068, more than any other year except its inaugural year, bringing the collective total to over $125,000.

The society is deeply grateful for the Middlebury (Tri-Bury) community – including runners, sponsors, and the many local businesses who stepped up by providing parking and other support. Their generosity and commitment made this event possible and is driving meaningful progress in the fight against breast cancer.

As of July 15, 2024, the American Cancer Society was funding more than $121 million in breast cancer research, with projects ranging from developing new treatments to understanding how the immune system plays a role to better and to understanding how diet contributes to the risk of cancer recurring. Your generous support is making this possible in addition to providing rides to treatments and free housing for patients and caregivers who need to seek treatment in Boston and New York.
