The noon February 23, 2026, update from the state said blizzard warnings remained in effect. Bands of moderate to heavy snow continue to move into eastern CT from RI (snowfall rates of 1⁄2” to 1” per hour). A band of heavy snow is also persisting in Western CT. These bands should continue to weaken with gaps opening up over the next few hours.

At 11:45 a.m. Eversource and UI were reporting a total of 14,856 Customers without power. The outages are now spread across most of the state. At 12:25 p.m., Eversource was showing 51 Middlebury homes without power, along with 7 in Naugatuck, 12 in Oxford, 164 in Southbury, fewer than 5 in Watertown, fewer than 2 in Waterbury and fewer than 2 in Woodbury.

Total snowfall at 9 a.m. generally ranged from 9” – 15” in the NW Hills and into the Hartford area up to 12” – 18” across most of the rest of the state and 18” – 26” in Eastern and Southeastern CT.

Additional snow: The HRRR model is forecasting another 1” – 3” across the state over the next 6 hours. The heaviest additional snow is expected in eastern CT and also from a moderate band in Western CT.

If snowfall totals exceed 24” a few weakened roofs may fail over car ports or on dilapidated structures. However, at 12 p.m. the risk of that happening was considered low.
