Per the AirNow app, Middlebury’s air quality today will be unhealthy because the level of fine particles in the air (PM2.5) will rise to a reading of 182. This PM2.5 level means the air will be particularly bad for those with heart or lung disease, older adults, children and teens. They are advised to reduce their exposure by avoiding strenuous outdoor activities or keeping outdoor activities short and to consider moving physical activities indoors.
Others are encouraged to reduce their exposure by choosing less strenuous activities or shortening the time they are active outdoors.
The ozone level of 54 for today is considered moderate, which means those who are unusually sensitive to ozone need to reduce their outdoor activity level or shorten the amount of time they are outdoors.
