The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UConn Waterbury (OLLI) announced its Spring 2026 semester and invited adults aged 50 and above to register from a choice of more than 60 courses available online and in person at the UConn Waterbury campus. Online classes begin March 2 and in-person classes begin March 6. Registration opened January 19.
There is no educational requirement to join OLLI, no homework and no tests. Classes are taught by a broad range of skilled experts, including current and former teachers as well as specialists with highly developed interests based on research, study and hands-on experience.
The Spring curriculum includes history, current events, languages, visual arts, literature, philosophy and much more. OLLI is also offering 34 new classes, including Us vs. Them: A Habit of Mind That Threatens American Democracy, Immigrants in America – Stories of Jazz, Blues, Rock and Popular Culture, and Indigenous Art History of North America.
“OLLI programming and courses are dynamic, relevant and constantly changing,” OLLI President Ira Morrison said. “We offer a diverse and far-ranging selection in person at the UConn Waterbury campus, or online via Zoom. Additionally, our clubs, special activities and lectures and events, including our popular OLLI Café guest presenter series every Friday at noon, provide numerous opportunities for social interaction, exploration and camaraderie. OLLI is fun, interesting, inexpensive and a perfect way to interact with other adults interested in the world around us and dedicated to lifelong learning.”
OLLI Director Fiona de Merell added, “OLLI has so much to offer adults of all backgrounds and interests. Lifelong learning truly is a special gift – it represents a diverse educational and social experience unique to OLLI at UConn, and to other OLLI’s across the country. If you’re over 50, thrive on learning and socializing, OLLI’s the place to be!”
Classes are available throughout the semester, which runs from March 2 to May 8. Annual registration is $65 per year. Classes, which run between one and 10 weeks, cost approximately $11 per 90-minute session. Financial assistance is available for the cost of membership, and OLLI offers subsidized, safe and convenient onsite parking.
