Police arrest Middlebury men

Middlebury Police on August 29, 2025, and August 30, 2025, arrested Victor Manuel Alvarez-Lozano and Sasenarine Ramnarine, respectively, in unrelated incidents. Please note the following listed charges are for alleged actions pending resolution of the court cases.

Officer Erik Markiewicz arrested Alvarez-Lozano, 41, of Park Road Extension on August 29. He was charged with five counts of risk of injury to a child, two counts of illegal sexual contact with a victim under age 16, three counts of illegal sexual contact with a victim under age 13, two counts of sexual assault in the first degree, one count of sexual assault in the second degree, one count of sexual assault in the third degree and six counts of sexual assault in the fourth degree. Alvarez-Lozano was held on a $1 million bond and transferred to New Haven Correctional Center pending his September 2 court appearance.

Court records don’t yet show the August 29 arrest. However, Alvarez-Lozano has a September 12, 2025, court date for an offense date of April 18, 2025, in which he was charged with third-degree assault.

Officer Giovanni Guerrera arrested Sasenarine Ramnarine, 50, of Independence Circle two times on August 30. The first was at 12:45 p.m., when he was charged with first degree criminal trespass and violation of a protective order. Ramnarine was released on a $600 bond for the first arrest.

The second arrest was at 4 p.m., when he was again charged with first degree criminal trespass and violation of a protective order. His bond was set at $50,000 for the second arrest, and he was transported to New Haven Correctional Center pending his September 2 court appearance.

Court records don’t yet show the August 30 arrest. However, Ramnarine has a September 15, 2025, court date for two different cases: one, with an offense date of May 29, 2025, is for second degree threatening – physical threat; the other, with an offense date of August 24, 2025, is for violation of a protective order, second degree breach of peace and third-degree assault.
