In a letter dated April 14, 2025, but received by this reporter on May 2, 2025, Yale New Haven Health System reported “an unauthorized third party gained access to our network and, on March 8, 2025, obtained copies of certain data. It said information contained in the stolen data may include a patient’s name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, race or ethnicity, Social Security number and/or medical record number.

It said the data did not include a patient’s electronic medical record and treatment information or financial account or payment information.

Although Yale New Haven had not learned of any of the stolen data being used for identity theft or fraud, it offered patients a complimentary 24-month membership in Experian IdentityWorks Credit 3B, a product that helps detect possible misuse of personal information and provides identity protection services.
