Mrs. Nancie L. Guillet, 55, of Middlebury passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and friends on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at her home after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the loving wife of Scott R. Guillet.
Nancie was born on Oct. 9, 1963, in Waterbury, daughter of William C. Gagliardi and the late Barbara (Begley) Gagliardi. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and attained her bachelor’s degree from Central Connecticut State University and her master’s degree from the University of New Haven. Nancie worked for several healthcare companies in Connecticut in a career spanning over 30 years. She began her sales career at Blue Cross Blue Shield after college, and was a consistent top producer for Health Net, Connecticare and lastly for HealthyCT.
Kind and well loved by anyone who was lucky enough to meet her, Nancie was incredibly people-oriented and would talk to everyone around her. She had a genuine interest in everyone with whom she came in contact and was held in high esteem by her peers and coworkers. Above all, Nancie was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend whose smile lit up the room, and she will be deeply missed.
In addition to Bill, her father, and Scott, her devoted husband of 19 years, Nancie is survived by her beloved son, Hunter Guillet of Middlebury; her sister Roxanne Hamm and her husband, Rick, of Eagle Rock, Virginia; her aunts, Angie Nardozzi and Mary Montano, both of Waterbury; and her uncles, Jim Begley and his wife, Annie, and Jack Begley and his wife, Doris, all of Wolcott. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, William “Billy” C. Gagliardi III, Rebecca “Becca” Dietz, Ricky Hamm, Reanna Hamm, and Raven Fisher as well as numerous friends including her best friend, Donna Calabro, and her husband, Steven, of Middlebury. In addition to her mother, Nancie was predeceased by her brother, William C. Gagliardi Jr.
Nancie’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Smilow Cancer Center with special and heartfelt thanks to her nurse, Chris Drew, for her outstanding and compassionate care shown to Nancie.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at Maiorano Funeral Home at 95 Willow St. in Waterbury. Her funeral services will be private.
