Police toy drive

The Middlebury Police Benevolent Association annual toy drive and visit with Santa is Saturday, December 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dinova’s Four Corners at 600 Middlebury Road in Middlebury. Donate a new unwrapped gift to bring a smile to a child this holiday season. Cash donations also will be accepted. Donations will support local children and families.

Cookie Sale

The MVFD ladies auxiliary annual cookie sale will be Saturday, December 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Middlebury Fire House at 65 Tucker Hill Road. Cookies will be for sale for $8 per pound.

This year let the ladies help fill your holiday platter with a variety of cookies. Cookies will include white chocolate chip with craisin, snickerdoodle, spritz, Swedish dreams, peanut butter balls, cake batter, sugar cookies, pignoli, snowballs, Christmas crackle and so much more!

The Middlebury Lions Club is bringing Santa to the new town gazebo at Shepardson Community Center at 1172 Whittemore Road in Middlebury Saturday, December 9, from noon to 5 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera and take a picture of their child(ren) with Santa. In the spirit of the holidays, a cash and/or local food bank donation would be greatly appreciated.

Gingerbread Village

Saturday is the last day of the Gingerbread Village and Christmas Bazaar at St. George’s Episcopal Church. See the beautiful snowscape set with beautiful gingerbread houses and then check out the raffle baskets, Swedish bread and other baked goods, preserves, holiday store items and gingerbread cookie kits. Lunch options prepared “to go” will be available from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Village will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking and admission are free (donations welcome). The church is handicap accessible.

Santa’s Mailbox

Don’t forget to drop your wish list in Santa’s big red mailbox on the Green! All letters received by Wednesday, December 13, are guaranteed to receive a reply from Santa and his elves. Please include child’s full name, age, complete mailing address and telephone number (in case Santa has any questions). Siblings and/or pets’ names are also encouraged.
