The Middlebury Land Trust invites everyone to a Zoom presentation about Eastern Coyotes Thursday, February 23, at 7 p.m. The featured speaker will be Dana Goin, Wildlife Outreach Specialist at the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, N.Y., a not-for-profit environmental educational organization.

Goin notes few species in North America are as misunderstood and maligned as the coyote. Yet to many, they are a symbol of resilience and a subject of admiration. Goin’s talk about eastern coyotes will include their history and ecology, and what we can do to best coexist with them.

Attendees will come away with a better understanding of the behavior and benefits of the eastern coyote and how to empower our community with the tools, information, and resources we require to peacefully coexist with this misunderstood predator.

Goin holds a degree in wildlife conservation and has worked in various areas around the country studying large and mid-sized carnivores including mountain lions, coyotes, bobcats, and raccoons. Her previous presentations have been very well-received in many communities in Connecticut and other states.
