Courtland R. Radke obituary

Beloved son, brother and friend

Courtland “Corey” R. Radke, 34, of Middlebury, was reunited with his mother in heaven on Monday, December 12, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with addiction.

Corey was born in Waterbury on June 2, 1988, son of Robert Radke and the late Patricia (O’Neill) Radke. Growing up in Middlebury, Corey attended Middlebury public schools and graduated from Pomperaug High School Class of 2006. Over the years, Corey made lifelong friendships with a vast amount of people.

Those that knew Corey could attest that he was one of the funniest guys you’d ever meet, as well as a social butterfly who had the ability to light up any room that he walked into. The amount of laughter and joy he was able to bring into people’s lives was remarkable. Corey was fiercely loyal, was a protector, and always had everyone’s back. His story telling capability could pull you from reality as you listened, making you appreciate life. With whatever ingredients he could get his hand on, Corey could always put together a delicious meal. Corey was truly a one-of-a-kind man whose memory will live on forever in the hearts of many.

Corey leaves behind to cherish his memory his father, Robert Radke of Middlebury and his two brothers, Michael Radke of Boone, North Carolina, and Ryan Radke of Middlebury. He also leaves behind his aunts and uncles, Jan and Ed Heiner, Fred O’Neill, and Joe O’Neill; his cousins, Robby, David, and Jennifer Heiner; and many other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Radke, and his grandparents, Bub and Nell Radke.

Calling hours for Corey will be held Saturday, December 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Brookside Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory at 200 Benson Road in Middlebury, Connecticut. A funeral service will take place at the conclusion of calling hours at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions can be made in Corey’s memory to Farrell Treatment Center with checks remitted to Gilead Community Services, P.O. Box 1000, Middletown, CT 06457 or on the website, www.farrell-tc.com/donate.
