Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister & friend

Mrs. Ann (Burke) Healey, 82, of Middlebury, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, surrounded by family. Ann was the loving wife of Atty. James R. Healey.

Ann was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Dr. Joseph F. and Evelyn (Lawlor) Burke. After graduating from St. Margaret’s School and Smith College, Ann went on to earn a master’s degree from Fairfield University. She taught English at Post College before starting her family. Ann was an avid golfer and reader. She was a long-time volunteer at The Mattatuck Museum, and a member of the Middlebury Garden Club, the Country Club of Waterbury and the Connecticut Women’s Golf Association. Ann enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe with both family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, James, of 58 years; her son, Thomas Healey and his wife, Amy, of Middlebury, Connecticut; her daughter, Sarah Grome and her husband, Robert, of Franklin, Massachusetts; and her son, Michael and his wife, Marybeth, of Redding Connecticut; six wonderful granddaughters, Ryan and Molly Healey, Katherine, Rebecca, and Rachel Grome, and Dylan Healey. She also leaves three brothers, David (Joanne), Joseph (Jessie), and Lawrence (Jane) Burke and their children, David, Stephen, Joseph, Carrie and Alicia. She was predeceased by her nephew, Jesse Burke.

At Ann’s request, all services are private and at the convenience of the family. Chase Parkway Memorial The Albini Family Funeral Home in Waterbury has been entrusted with Ann’s arrangements.
