On Thursday, June 23, 2022, Connecticut state officials said from Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. to Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 8:30 p.m., the number of COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 824,295 cases. This is an increase of 4,269 cases over one week. The state daily test positivity rate as of Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. was 8.15%, up from 8.04% on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 8:30 p.m.

On June 22 at 8:30 p.m., 233 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, 40 fewer than on June 15. Through Wednesday, June 22, deaths numbered 11,034, an increase of 19 deaths since June 15.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 1,356 (+3) confirmed and 272 (+2) probable, Naugatuck – 6,900 confirmed and 1,396 probable, Oxford – 2,244 confirmed and 287 probable, Southbury – 2,908 confirmed and 681 probable, Woodbury – 1,364 confirmed and 279 probable, Watertown – 4,451 confirmed and 768 probable, and Waterbury – 29,509 confirmed and 4,249 probable.
