This is an increase of 4,811 cases over one week. The state daily test positivity rate as of Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. was 8.81%, down from 10.83% on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 8:30 p.m.

On June 8 at 8:30 p.m., 282 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, 29 fewer than on June 1. Through Wednesday, June 8, deaths numbered 10,999, an increase of 27 deaths since June 1.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 1,349 (+17) confirmed and 268 (+3) probable, Naugatuck – 6,856 confirmed and 1,381 probable, Oxford – 2,210 confirmed and 283 probable, Southbury – 2,871 confirmed and 676 probable, Woodbury – 1,347 confirmed and 275 probable, Watertown – 4,419 confirmed and 761 probable, and Waterbury – 29,336 confirmed and 4,217 probable.
