On Thursday, June 2, 2022, Connecticut state officials said from Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. to Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 8:30 p.m., the number of COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 810,849 cases. This is an increase of 5,520 cases over one week. The state daily test positivity rate as of Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. was 10.83%, down from 11.77% on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 8:30 p.m.

On June 1 at 8:30 p.m., 311 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, 68 fewer than on May 25. Through Wednesday, June 1, deaths numbered 10,972, an increase of 31 deaths since May 25.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 1,332 (+17) confirmed and 265 (-1) probable, Naugatuck – 6,815 confirmed and 1,365 probable, Oxford – 2,188 confirmed and 281 probable, Southbury – 2,844 confirmed and 674 probable, Woodbury – 1,337 confirmed and 272 probable, Watertown – 4,405 confirmed and 760 probable, and Waterbury – 29,234 confirmed and 4,183 probable.
