This is an increase of 7,342 cases over one week. The state daily test positivity rate as of Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. was 10.35%, up from 8.92% on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 8:30 p.m.

On May 4 at 8:30 p.m., 233 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, the same number as on April 27. Through Wednesday, May 4, deaths numbered 10,858, an increase of 18 deaths since April 27.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 1,235 (+7) confirmed and 253 (+3) probable, Naugatuck – 6,430 confirmed and 1,288 probable, Oxford – 2,029 confirmed and 278 probable, Southbury – 2,643 confirmed and 633 probable, Woodbury – 1,242 confirmed and 267 probable, Watertown – 4,157 confirmed and 742 probable, and Waterbury – 28,306 confirmed and 4,045 probable.
