Loving father, son and brother
Rod Santos, 61, of Middlebury, entered into the gates of heaven, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Waterbury Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Rod was born January 12, 1960, in Waterbury, a son of Nelson Santos of Naugatuck and the late Dianne (Bird) Santos. He graduated from Naugatuck High School Class of 1978 and earned an associate’s degree from Waterbury State Technical College. He worked as a quality inspector for Component Engineers Inc. of Wallingford for over 20 years and in the industry for 38 years. Rod was a great handy man, loved to work on old cars and enjoyed watching old movies.
Besides his father, Nelson, he leaves to honor and cherish his memory his son, Nicholas Santos, and his significant other, Marisa, both of Middlebury; his siblings, Tina Santos and her husband, Kevin Sullivan, of Peabody, Massachusetts, Jay Santos and his wife, Anne, of Mansfield, Massachusetts, and Cathy Lanoie and her husband, Jason, of Waterbury; his nephew and nieces, Ross, Rebecca, Isabelle, Ailinn and Emil; and his dog, Molly.
Calling hours with the cremains present, will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Brookside Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home and Crematory at 200 Benson Road in Middlebury. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
