This is an increase of 1,352 cases over four days. The state daily test positivity rate as of Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 1.55%, down from 1.67% on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday at 8:30 p.m., 212 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, 12 fewer than on Wednesday. Through Wednesday, October 20, deaths numbered 8,721, an increase of 14 deaths since October 13. Deaths are reported once a week.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 711 (+1) confirmed and 113 (no change) probable, Naugatuck – 3,631 confirmed and 490 probable, Oxford – 1,046 confirmed and 109 probable, Southbury – 1,426 confirmed and 273 probable, Woodbury – 654 confirmed and 115 probable, Watertown – 2,504 confirmed and 403 probable, and Waterbury – 16,299 confirmed and 2,153 probable.
