The state daily test positivity rate as of Monday, September 6, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 2.60%, down from 2.99% on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.

On Monday at 8:30 p.m., 363 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, 6 more than on Wednesday. Through Wednesday, September 1, deaths numbered 8,394, an increase of 39 deaths since August 25. Deaths are reported once a week.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 680 (+3) confirmed and 110 (+1) probable, Naugatuck – 3,434 confirmed and 422 probable, Oxford – 944 confirmed and 96 probable, Southbury – 1,348 confirmed and 262 probable, Woodbury – 609 confirmed and 93 probable, Watertown – 2,353 confirmed and 353 probable, and Waterbury – 15,568 confirmed and 2,009 probable.
