Estate Sale at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Middlebury – A huge estate sale along the drive in front of the church will be held Saturday, June 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Rain date: June 19, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) The sale will feature a huge number of items a member left to the church – lots of Christmas Decorations, Easter decorations, silk flowers, kitchen items, lamps, chairs, china dishes, hardware items, candles, drapes, curtains, shelving, craft items, picture frames, stuffed animals, country home decor, security items, baskets, glass stemware, and so MUCH more. The church is on Tucker Hill Road.

Genealogy Club Meeting – The Naugatuck Valley Genealogy Club will meet on Zoom Saturday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m. Following a brief business meeting, Penny Hartzell will present “Don’t Discount Deeds: They Could Contain a Pot of Genealogical Gold.” The lecture will demonstrate, through examples, how deeds can identify family members and reveal migration: where a person came from or has gone to. Deeds from Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania will be used. The public is invited and admission is free. Sunday, June 13

Free Concert – The Friends of Woodbury Senior Community Center, Inc. has scheduled a free community concert, featuring The Berkshire Jazz Orchestra with Vocalist Jan Maki on Sunday, June 13, at 2 p.m. at the Woodbury, Connecticut Senior Community Center. Enjoy listening to the Berkshire Jazz Orchestra, a 17-piece ensemble composed of Fairfield County musicians, who will offer big band selections and classics by Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and contemporary writers.

Also performing will be vocalist and Woodbury resident Jan Maki, who has performed with big bands, as well as with the Berkshire Jazz Orchestra. Her outstanding vocals include songs from the American Song Book of memorable standards, as well as signature vocals by Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Bette Middler and Natalie Cole.

The free concert will be held outside at the Woodbury Senior Community Center. Music patrons should bring a lawn chair. No registration required. Rain date: June 20.

Middlebury Congregational Church Strawberry Shortcake to go

What: Strawberry shortcake to go or enjoy on the town green.

When: 5 to 7:30 p.m., RAIN or SHINE.

Where: Middlebury Congregational Church at 1242 Whittemore Road in Middlebury.

Free Dinner – Master’s Table in Ansonia is offering free dinners Sunday, June 13, and Sunday, June 27, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Assumption Church Hall at 61 N. Cliff St. in Ansonia. Due to COVID-19, this is a drive-up (or walk-up) event. Those who walk up must wear a face mask and stay 6 feet apart in line.
