At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, state officials posted the number of new cases in Connecticut as of 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21. The 29 new cases bring the total for Connecticut to 223.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19: 223 (29 new cases) as of March 21, 2020 at 10 a.m.

  • Fairfield County: 140
  • Hartford County: 35
  • Litchfield County: 11
  • Middlesex County: 6
  • New Haven County: 24
  • New London County: 1
  • Tolland Count: 5
  • Windham County: 1

The state reports 43 patients were hospitalized, and five have died. A state public health lab has tested 687 patients, and 77, or 11%, of those tested were positive. Statewide, more than 3,100 tests have been reported.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns are: Middlebury – 0, Naugatuck – 0, Oxford – 1, Southbury – 2, Woodbury – 1, Watertown – 0, Waterbury – 2.

Saturday news reports said a Bristol Health employee tested positive Friday night, a new case was reported in Orange and two cases were reported in Suffield. SFgate.com says six cases were confirmed in Ridgefield and the Fairfield police reported five police officers tested positive.

The site also posted these towns reported their first case or cases Saturday: Beacon Falls, Berlin, Bolton, Clinton, East Hampton, East Hartford, East Lyme, Enfield, Farmington, Glastonbury, Haddam, Killingworth, Madison, Manchester, Meriden, Middletown, New Britain, New Fairfield, Oxford, Plainville, Portland, South Windsor, Tolland, Torrington, West Hartford, Weston, Wethersfield, Windsor, Woodbury and Woodstock.
