A free community concert, “An Afternoon with Mozart and Brahms,” will feature the Parnassus String Quartet of Yale School of Music Sunday, April 7, at 2 p.m. in the Woodbury Senior Community Center’s O & G Community Room at 281 Main St. S. in Woodbury.

The Parnassus String Quartet was awarded first prize in Yale University’s annual string quartet competition. The quartet will be joined by Woodbury resident, clarinetist and cultural ambassador Dr. Vincent de Luise in two masterworks. Mozart’s Quintet for Clarinet and String Quartet in A major, KV 581, and Brahms’ Quintet in B Minor, Op. 115. These two masterpieces of chamber music, separated by almost exactly a century, are emblematic of the texture and nuance of chamber music.

For more information about the free concert, contact Lynne Kearney at 203-263-4331 or Sharon Sherman at 203-695-5410.
