This year’s St. John of the Cross Church Apple Harvest Festival will be held Sunday, Sept. 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Shepardson Community Center in Middlebury. The Community Center is at 1172 Whittemore Road (Rte. 188) between the Town Hall and the Library in Middlebury.
Food choices will include apple pies and apple fritters, fried dough, burgers and hot dogs, chili (regular and vegetarian), pulled pork sandwiches, fruit, and ice cream. Activities will include children’s games, face and pumpkin painting, a bake sale, musical entertainment all day long and a tag sale.
Many commercial vendors, crafters and a raffle will be available. Raffle prizes include $3,000 in cash, $1,000 in food and grocery goods from the Four Corners Store, $1,000 in heating oil, and a 55-inch Samsung UHD (ultra-high definition) TV. This event is rain or shine.
