ovesne,judithJudith Catherine Wickun Ovesne of Middlebury passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Griffin Hospital on May 5, 2015. Judy was the beloved wife of Charles Ovesne and the devoted mother of Denise Blake and Jeffrey Blake, both of West Haven.

Before her retirement, Judy was a long-time employee of Sikorsky Aircraft. Judy was an avid gardener and loved bird watching and entertaining at her lakeside home. She enjoyed boating on Lake Quassapaug aboard their pontoon boat with family, friends and their dog, Daisy. Judy was an experienced traveler, traveling to Europe and with her family to Hawaii and her favorite destination, the Caribbean. She also enjoyed watching and following her daughter’s band, Sweeter than Wine. She was a member of the Tyler Cove Lake Association and Middlebury Congregational Church. Judy’s loving and giving spirit will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband and her children, she leaves her sister, Sharon Frasca (Orazio/Sonny) of Huntington; grandchildren, Julia Blake of Waterbury, Jeffrey Blake of Okinawa, Japan, and Jillian and Brandon Traver of Hilton Head, S.C.; and her niece, Karrie Frasca-Beaulieu (Gary) of Middlebury and nephew, Robert Frasca (Monica) of Watertown, Mass. Also left to mourn her passing are Susan Blake, Kathleen Fisher, Patricia Dalusio (Ritchie), Jack and Paula Traver, Jamie Johnson, Robert Johnson, Dawn Mastrobattisto-MacArthur, Janet Mastrobattisto, her dinner group from Sikorsky, many cousins and friends from Lake Quassapaug and her church. Special thanks to the staff at Griffin Hospital and Hale Home Care.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Middlebury Congregational Church at 1089 Whittemore Road in Middlebury, Conn.
