Ion Bank issued the following statement to alert its customers about fraudsters posing as bank employees:

We want to make you aware of an important security matter. Ion Bank has recently learned that fraudsters are attempting to contact customers while posing as Ion Bank employees. These individuals may reach out by phone, text, or email and attempt to obtain personal or financial information.

Please be extra vigilant and know that Ion Bank will never contact you to ask you to confirm your account number, card number, token or verification codes, Personal Identification Number (PIN) or password via phone, text, or email.

How to Protect Yourself

  • Do not share personal information with anyone who contacts you unexpectedly.
  • Verify the caller by hanging up and calling Ion Bank directly at 203-729-4442.
  • Avoid clicking links in unsolicited emails or text messages claiming to be from Ion Bank.
  • Report suspicious contact immediately so we can help protect your accounts.
  • If you shared your online banking password and you can’t reach us during business hours, use the forgot password feature to reset it immediately.
