On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, Connecticut state officials said from Sunday, January 31, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. to Monday, February 1, 2021, at 8:30 p.m., COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 256,522. This is an increase of 2,568 cases over 24 hours.

On Monday at 8:30 p.m., 900 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 12 patients since Sunday, and deaths numbered 7,133, an increase of 14 deaths.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 495 confirmed (+5) and 38 probable (+1), Naugatuck – 2,367 confirmed and 177 probable, Oxford – 610 confirmed and 37 probable, Southbury – 965 confirmed and 74 probable, Woodbury – 429 confirmed and 33 probable, Watertown – 1,562 confirmed and 145 probable, and Waterbury – 10,960 confirmed and 728 probable.
