A complimentary Trees to Please community education program, “Rooted in Woodbury: Understanding, Protecting, and Caring for Our Trees,” will be held Saturday, September 26, at 10 a.m. at the Woodbury Senior Center. The program, presented in partnership with Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust, will bring together local and state tree experts to discuss Connecticut’s trees, native species, tree health, invasive species, climate-related stresses, proper planting, and long-term tree care.
The program will also give residents information on requesting a tree through Trees to Please and how they can help identify planting opportunities, support community outreach and planting priorities, and participate in the long-term stewardship of Connecticut’s tree canopy.
A hands-on tree planting demonstration will follow the presentation, and attendees are encouraged to participate.
The program is free to attend. Advance registration is available through the Woodbury First Selectman’s Office at 203-263-2141. See the program flyer below.
