This report will be updated when the election numbers are official.

As of 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2026, the Secretary of the State’s website says 160 of 169 Connecticut towns have completely reported primary results. The unofficial results thus far in the three races in which Middlebury voters cast votes are:

5th Congressional District – Republican Candidate

Chris Shea – 9,234 votes          Jonathan De Barros – 2,245 votes

 

State Representative – District 71* – Republican Candidate

Wiliam Pizzuto – 580 votes          Michael Grosso – 314 votes

*Pizzuto won in Middlebury with 445 votes to Grosso’s 169 votes while Grosso won in Waterbury with 145 votes to Pizzuto’s 135 votes.

 

Governor – Democratic Candidate

Ned Lamont – 121,278 votes          Josh Elliott – 57,371 votes
