The Air Now app predicts an unhealthy-for-sensitive-groups ozone level of 101 and a moderate particulate matter level of 54 today. People with lung disease such as asthma, children and teens, older adults, and people who are routinely active outdoors for six or more hours per day need to reduce their exposure by choosing less strenuous activities or shortening the amount of time they are active outdoors.
The National Weather Service in New York City – NY issued the following alert for Northern New Haven County
…AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING… The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has issued an Air Quality Action Day for the following counties: Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, New London. until 11 PM EDT this evening. An Air Quality Action Day means that Ground Level Ozone within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards.
