License your dog

#MiddleburyCT #DogLicense

Connecticut dogs six months and older must be licensed during the month of June. Purchase licenses between June 2 and June 30 to avoid paying a late fee of $1 per month that starts July 1. Licenses are $8 for a neutered or spayed dog and $19 per dog for those that are unaltered. Payment is by check or credit card.

Provide proof of up-to-date rabies shots and a certificate of neutering or spaying if your dog has not been registered before. If your dog has a microchip, please provide the registration number.

Pay in the town clerk’s office at town hall or mail in your payment. You also can register dogs online with a credit card at client.pointandpay.net/web/TownofMiddleburyTownClerkWeb. Those who do so will pay an automatic convenience fee of 2.5% or $2 minimum. For online purchases, the dog must have been licensed in the previous tag year and the town clerk must have an up-to-date rabies certificate and address on file. The fee for online purchases is $2.75. License tags are mailed to those who register online.

You also can mail in the fee with a completed dog license application available online at www.middlebury-ct.org under government, town clerk’s office, dog licensing. Mail the application with a copy of current rabies and spay/neuter certificates, a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check made payable to “Town of Middlebury” to Town Clerk, 1212 Whittemore Road, Middlebury, CT 06762.

The town clerk’s office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those who apply for tags through June 30 will be entered into a lottery, and the winner of the lottery will be reissued dog tag No. 1.
