George Elmer Shove, 88, was born March 3, 1937, in Waterbury, Connecticut, and passed away May 7, 2025, in Garland, Texas. He graduated in 1956 from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Waterbury, Conn. In his later years, he worked for Connecticut Lighting and Power. He spent six years in the Army Reserve and worked for the Middlebury Police Department, showing his commitment to the betterment of his country and community. He also worked in sales for Frasier Insulation and for Dykes Insulation in Dallas.

George was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He loved watching sports and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a simple man who never missed a Sunday at church and lived life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed.

George is survived by his sons, Steve Shove and wife, Dana Shove, and Kevin Shove and wife, Lisa Shove; his daughter, Susan Washerlesky and husband, Jeff Washerlesky; grandchildren, Cory Shove, Makenzie Washerlesky Hassler, Hailee Shove, Ryleigh Washerlesky, Mia Kuhlmann, Brady Shove, George Shove, and Dutch Shove; and great-grandchildren, Everly Shove, Josie Puschman, and Sterling Puschman. He was preceded by his parents, Elmer and Helen Shove; his daughter, Karen Shove Kuhlmann; and his wife, Mary Shove.

Services were held Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Garland, Texas. Arrangements were by Williams Funeral Directors of Garland, Texas.
