Middlebury’s Democratic Registrar of Voters Mike Granja is leaving the position March 15, 2024, although he did offer to stay one week beyond that time if needed. Granja said in a February 1 email to MDTC Chairman Curt Bosco and fellow town hall employees that he believed the upcoming early election cycle imposed by the state was beyond his health tolerances and ability to commit large personal resources of his time.

He said he had tried to recruit a replacement for his position, but none of the folks he contacted were interested in taking the position. He said he would be happy to provide training at any time.

Granja has been serving as the Democratic registrar since March 3, 2023, when Selma Frohn, who was elected the Democratic registrar in November 2022, stepped down.
