Loving mother, grandmother and sister

Eleanor (Garofalo) Ferrucci, 95, of Middlebury and formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the Middlebury Convalescent Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert D. Ferrucci.

Eleanor was born on March 30, 1928, in Waterbury, Connecticut, a daughter of the late Angelo and Lucia (Listro) Garofalo. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School. Prior to her retirement, Eleanor was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital as a clerk in the business office for 25 years. She was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, where she was a volunteer for 65 years. She was also an usher for over 50 years, president of the St. Ann Society and a member of the knitting club at the church. She volunteered at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School and was past president of their Parent Teachers Association.

Eleanor leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Michael R. Ferrucci and his wife, Evi, of Port St. Lucie, Forida and Robert J. Ferrucci and his wife, Tina, of Woodbury, Connecticut; six grandchildren, Kayla and her husband, Matt, Kyle, Santino, Alessandra, David and John; her sister, Anna Lavorgna of Waterbury, Connecticut; her daughter-in-law, Anna Ferrucci of Waterbury, Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Paul Ferrucci; brother, Sebastian Garofalo; and sisters, Lena Barbieri and Josephine Carpentieri.
Eleanor’s family would like to thank the staff of both The Ivy and Middlebury Convalescent Home for their compassionate care given to her.

Eleanor’s funeral was September 28, 2023, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt.
