Help fill an entire school bus with non-perishable food items for the Middlebury Food Bank this Saturday, November 19, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Middlebury Elementary School at 550 Whittemore Road in Middlebury. That’s when the Middlebury Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will hold a drive-through “Stuff the Bus – Give Thanks Food Drive.”

The PTO is partnering with First Student bus company, Middlebury Elementary School and Middlebury Pack 6 Cub Scouts for this event. “We reached out to First Student to see if they’d be interested in helping us again this year, and, without hesitation, they said they’d be happy to provide a school bus for the food drive,” said Michele Dunn, Middlebury Elementary School PTO president. “We’re all looking forward to helping our local food bank, and we’re inviting the entire community to come take part in this drive-through event.”

Items needed for the “Stuff the Bus – Give Thanks Food Drive” include pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter, canned tuna, soups (chicken and vegetable), canned vegetables, rice boxes or bags, cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese, pasta, pasta sauce, instant Jello, instant pudding, cake or cookie mix and frosting. Cash or gift cards also will be accepted.
