The Gingerbread Village at St. George’s Episcopal Church on Tucker Hill Road in Middlebury is open Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking and admission are free. This event includes a holiday bazaar, raffle baskets, baked items, and gingerbread cookie kits. Food to go will be available Saturday.

The Middlebury Connecticut Police Benevolent Association will collect new unwrapped toys Saturday, December 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dinova’s Four Corners Grocery Store at 600 Middlebury Road in Middlebury. Cash donations also will be accepted. Donations will support local children and families. Donations also may be dropped off at police headquarters at 200 Southford Road.

The Middlebury Elementary School PTO and the United Way and TEAM Inc. are holding a drive-through Holiday Toy Drive Saturday, December 11 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. (rain or shine) at Middlebury Elementary School on Whittemore Road with the goal of helping more than 260 children in the greater Waterbury area this holiday season. They will collect new, unwrapped toys. Cash or gift cards also will be accepted. Those who cannot make the drive-through event but still wish to donate can contact Michele Dunn at mespto@region15.org for other arrangements.

In Naugatuck, the Naugatuck Historical Society will hold a holiday reception Saturday, December 11, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Naugatuck History Museum at the Tuttle House at 380 Church Street in Naugatuck. Enjoy light refreshments and hear about the progress being made on the museum. The house will be decorated for the season by the Naugatuck Garden Club. This event is free and open to the public; however, the historical society has partnered with Naugatuck Fire Department to accept new, unwrapped toys for local children.

In Woodbury, the Woman’s Club of Woodbury Holiday Fair will be Saturday, December 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Woodbury Senior Center at 265 Main St. S. in Woodbury. Raffle drawings will be held beginning at 2 p.m. Raffle tickets are 1 for $5, 3 for $10, and 8 for $20. In addition to the raffle, the fair will offer baskets and wreaths with live greenery, pinecones and/or ornaments and large bows; donated household items; cupcakes and cookies
