This is an increase of 1,034 cases over three days. The state daily test positivity rate as of Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 1.77%, up from 1.55% on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.

On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., 191 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, 21 fewer than on Sunday. Through Wednesday, October 27, deaths numbered 8,751, an increase of 30 deaths since October 20. Deaths are reported once a week.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 713 (+2) confirmed and 113 (no change) probable, Naugatuck – 3,636 confirmed and 490 probable, Oxford – 1,046 confirmed and 109 probable, Southbury – 1,431 confirmed and 273 probable, Woodbury – 654 confirmed and 115 probable, Watertown – 2,509 confirmed and 403 probable, and Waterbury – 16,338 confirmed and 2,152 probable.
