Lori A. Giannini, 65, of Middlebury passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness on September 19, 2021. Lori was born in Monmouth, New Jersey to Robert and the late Emelyn Hauserman of Oxford, Connecticut. She grew up in the Pines Lake community in Wayne, New Jersey and later settled there with her own family. She also lived in Plano, Texas before moving to Middlebury.

Lori enjoyed time spent traveling with her husband and family to warm locations, especially their yearly vacations to Cape May, New Jersey. She never missed a soccer game, dance recital, or other opportunity to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching in her free time.

Lori was an elementary school teacher and was a long-time tutor and substitute at Pomperaug High School in Southbury and Sarah Noble Intermediate School in New Milford, Connecticut. She was always an active member of her church:  Preakness Reformed Church in Wayne, New Jersey and Middlebury Congregational Church in Middlebury.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 43 years, Bob; her daughters, Andrea Brunner (Andy Orlando) of New Milford, and Valerie Beard (Len) of Southbury; her beloved grandchildren (Katelyn, Leah, Maddie, Kyle, Alex, Ryan, Bill, and Harleigh); and her brother, Bob Hauserman (Renee) of Madison, New Jersey. She also is survived by her parents-in-law, Frank and Audrey Giannini; brothers-in-law, Bill Giannini (Liz) and Ron Giannini (Melanie); and sister-in-law Kathy Curtin (Ted), as well as her nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Sunday, September 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home at 235 Main Street N. in Southbury, Connecticut. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Middlebury Congregational Church’s Book of Remembrance.
