On Monday, March 29, 2021, Connecticut state officials said from Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. to Sunday, March 28, 2021, at 8:30 p.m., COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 308,439. This is an increase of 4,928 cases over four days. The state daily test positivity rate as of Sunday, March 28, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 3.53%, down from 3.88% Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday at 8:30 p.m., 498 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 64 patients since Wednesday, and deaths numbered 7,883, an increase of 21 deaths.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 572 confirmed (+8) and 60 probable (+2), Naugatuck – 2,803 confirmed and 265 probable, Oxford – 767 confirmed and 63 probable, Southbury – 1,122 confirmed and 160 probable, Woodbury – 514 confirmed and 56 probable, Watertown – 1,965 confirmed and 246 probable, and Waterbury – 12,883 confirmed and 1,238 probable.
