Middlebury is offering two special events to its residents Saturday, March 27 – the Easter Bunny will hand out candy to resident kids ages 2 to 10 at 11 a.m. and an Easter Parade will start at 1 p.m.

The Easter Bunny will be at Shepardson Community Center. The bunny will hand out goody bags (provided with funds from the Police Social Club) to the first 250 resident children, ages 2 to 10, who drive by to greet the bunny!

At 1 p.m., the Fire, Police, Public Works and Parks & Recreation Departments will host a large Easter Parade through various Middlebury neighborhoods collecting food donations for the Middlebury Food Bank. They will start at the firehouse and then take  RT-64 to RT-63 south to RT-188. Yale Ave, Foster St, White Ave, George St, out Yale to Shadduck Rd, Bioski Rd, Porter Hill Rd, RT-188, Porter Ave, Steinmann Ave, Kingsley Rd, Lawson Rd, Regan Rd, Tucker Hill Rd, RT-188, Bronson Dr, Dwyer Rd, Woodland Rd, Bronson Rd, South St, North St, Central Rd, Tyler Rd, RT-64, Ridgewood Dr, RT-188, left on Christian Rd, Brookside Dr, Lakewood Rd, Longmeadow, Lakeshore Dr, Washington Dr, Longmeadow, RT-188 Judd Hill Rd, right on Christian Rd, RT-64, Tranquility Rd, Sandy Beach Rd, Munson Rd, White Deer Rock Rd, Charcoal Rd, Up Breakneck Hill Rd, Mirey Dam, Northridge Dr, North Farms, down Breakneck to Watertown Rd, Park Rd Ext, Three Mile Hill Rd, St Joseph, Northwood, Westwood Acme Dr, Colonial Rd, Kelly Rd RT-64 back to the firehouse.

Kales said the MVFD is sorry you might not be on the route, but please find a spot on the route where you can watch. With the large number and size of the trucks, it will be difficult to make some of the roads in town. Kales said, “Come out and support your favorite department and let’s fill our local food bank and make them the real winners. Lets show our town pride.”
