On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, Connecticut state officials said from Monday, February 15, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. to Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at 8:30 p.m., COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 271,356. This is an increase of 534 cases over 24 hours.

On Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., 584 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 22 patients since Monday, and deaths numbered 7,476, an increase of 27 deaths.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 513 confirmed (no new cases) and 43 probable (+1), Naugatuck – 2,484 confirmed and 185 probable, Oxford – 671 confirmed and 33 probable, Southbury – 1,001 confirmed and 82 probable, Woodbury – 442 confirmed and 35 probable, Watertown – 1,676 confirmed and 167 probable, and Waterbury – 11,434 confirmed and 788 probable.
