On Thursday, September 24, Connecticut state officials said on Wednesday, September 23, at 8:30 p.m. there were 56,472 COVID-19 cases in the state. This is an increase of 157 cases since Tuesday, September 22. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 61.

On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., 72 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 1 patient, and deaths numbered 4,499, an increase of 2 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 55 confirmed and 6 probable, Naugatuck – 444 confirmed and 17 probable, Oxford – 90 confirmed and 4 probable, Southbury – 212 confirmed and 6 probable, Woodbury – 61 confirmed and 2 probable, Watertown – 168 confirmed and 9 probable, and Waterbury – 2,317 confirmed and 104 probable.
