On Wednesday, September 23, Connecticut state officials said on Tuesday, September 22, at 8:30 p.m. there were 56,315 COVID-19 cases in the state. This is an increase of 155 cases since Monday, September 21. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 61.

On Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., 73 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 3 patients, and deaths numbered 4,497, an increase of 1 death.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 55 confirmed and 6 probable, Naugatuck – 443 confirmed and 17 probable, Oxford – 90 confirmed and 4 probable, Southbury – 212 confirmed and 6 probable, Woodbury – 61 confirmed and 2 probable, Watertown – 167 confirmed and 9 probable, and Waterbury – 2,310 confirmed and 105 probable.
