In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and in anticipation of higher demand, Pomperaug Health District has expanded its flu clinic schedule, adding over 20 clinics. This year, clinics are by appointment only (at www.pddh.org).

Clinics at the Pomperaug Health District office begin on September 14. The schedule is as follows:

  • Mondays, September 14 – January 4, 3 – 5:30 pm (except October 12)
  • Wednesdays, September 16, 23, 30, 10 am – 12 pm
  • Thursdays, September 17 – November 19, 3 – 5:30 pm
  • Saturdays, October 3, November 7, December 5, 10 am – 12 pm

The Health District office is at Playhouse Corner, 77 Main Street North, Suites 204-205, in Southbury. Clinics at other locations will begin in October. The full schedule is available on the PDDH website.

CDC and State COVID-19 guidelines will be followed for the clinics. As part of the efforts to mitigate the spread of COVD-19, all clinics are by appointment only. Walk-ins will not be accepted. This is necessary to facilitate the required social distancing measures. The easiest way to make an appointment is to visit www.pddh.org and follow the links. Those unable to make an appointment online can call the PDDH at 203-264-9616, extension 0, to schedule an appointment. Face masks will be required at all clinics

The Health District offers vaccines for persons 6 months and older. The clinics are staffed by experienced nurses. The following vaccines will be available: quadrivalent, high-dose quadrivalent, Flublok, and FluMist. The following health insurances will be accepted: Medicare Part B; Aetna; Cigna; UnitedHealthcare; and HUSKY/Medicaid. ConnectiCare and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield are also accepted, with the exception of their Access Health CT / CT Exchange plans (the platinum, gold, silver, bronze plans). Insurance cards must be presented at the clinic for each person receiving a vaccine. PDDH reserves the right to refuse service if an insurance card is not presented for the person receiving the vaccine. Persons without an insurance card have the option of paying at the time of service. Persons with other health insurance or no health insurance must pay with cash, check, or credit card.
