On Thursday, August 27, 2020, Connecticut state officials said on Wednesday, August 26, at 8:30 p.m. there were 52,350 COVID-19 cases in the state. This is an increase of 130 cases since Tuesday, August 25. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 52.

On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., 56 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 1 patient, and deaths numbered 4,465, an increase of 2 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 47 confirmed and 5 probable, Naugatuck – 424 confirmed and 12 probable, Oxford – 88 confirmed and 4 probable, Southbury – 204 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 57 confirmed and 1 probable, Watertown – 157 confirmed and 9 probable, and Waterbury – 2,157 confirmed and 94 probable.
