On Wednesday, August 26, 2020, Connecticut state officials said on Tuesday, August 25, at 8:30 p.m. there were 52,220 COVID-19 cases in the state. This is an increase of 180 cases since Monday, August 24. The total number of cases in Middlebury increased to 52 (+1).

On Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., 57 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 2 patients, and deaths numbered 4,463, with no increase in deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 47 confirmed and 5 probable, Naugatuck – 423 confirmed and 11 probable, Oxford – 87 confirmed and 4 probable, Southbury – 204 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 57 confirmed and 1 probable, Watertown – 156 confirmed and 9 probable, and Waterbury – 2,153 confirmed and 93 probable.
