On Friday, July 31, 2020, Connecticut state officials said on Thursday, July 30, at 8:30 p.m. there were 49,810 COVID-19 cases in the state. This is an increase of 140 cases over the 49,670 on Wednesday, July 29, at 8:30 p.m. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 50.

On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., 69 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 3 patients, and 4,432 people had died, an increase of 1 death.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 47 confirmed and 3 probable, Naugatuck – 411 confirmed and 10 probable, Oxford – 83 confirmed and 4 probable, Southbury – 197 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 52 confirmed and 1 probable, Watertown – 149 confirmed and 8 probable, Waterbury – 2,069 confirmed and 89 probable.
