On Tuesday, July 28, 2020, Connecticut state officials said on Monday, July 27, at 8:30 p.m. there were 49,077 COVID-19 cases in the state, an increase of 94 cases over the 48,983 on Sunday, July 26, at 8:30 p.m. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 49.

On Monday at 8:30 p.m., 54 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 5 patients, and 4,423 people had died, an increase of 5 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 46 confirmed and 3 probable, Naugatuck – 411 confirmed and 10 probable, Oxford – 82 confirmed and 4 probable, Southbury – 195 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 52 confirmed and 1 probable, Watertown – 147 confirmed and 7 probable, Waterbury – 2,046 confirmed and 89 probable.
