On Sunday, May 31, 2020, Connecticut state officials said there were 42,201 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state as of Saturday, May 30, at 8:30 p.m. This is an increase of 179 cases over the 42,022 on Friday, May 29, at 8:30 p.m. The number of confirmed cases in Middlebury remained at 44.

On Saturday at 8:30 p.m., 481 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 52 patients, and 3,944 people had died, an increase of 32 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 44, Naugatuck – 363, Oxford – 77, Southbury – 172, Woodbury – 42, Watertown – 143, Waterbury – 1,866.
