On Friday, May 29, 2020, Connecticut state officials said there were 41,762 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state as of Thursday, May 28, at 8:30 p.m. This is an increase of 203 cases from the 41,559 on Wednesday, May 27, at 8:30 p.m. The number of confirmed cases in Middlebury remained at 44.

On Thursday at 8:30 p.m., 577 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 71 patients, and 3,868 people had died, an increase of 42 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 44, Naugatuck – 364, Oxford – 76, Southbury – 168, Woodbury – 41, Watertown – 142, Waterbury – 1,849.
