Middlebury Lions Club Luminaria Sales

Middlebury Lions Club members will be selling luminaria kits at the Middlebury Transfer Station and Dinova’s Four Corners Market Saturday, Dec. 14, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Brighten your driveway and walkways with luminarias this year! Luminaria bags are customarily placed along driveways and walkways at dusk on Christmas Eve and can also be a fun addition to your New Year’s Eve celebration. The white glowing bags are simple to set up by placing approximately 1 inch of sand (available at the transfer station) in the bottom of the bag, centering the candle in the sand and lighting it at dusk.

Each $6 luminaria kit has 12 white bags and 12 10-hour candles. You also can buy them at Middlebury Fine Wine, Old Towne Spirits (formerly Larry’s), Vaszauskas Farm and the Town Park and Recreation department.

Proceeds will support local scholarship and community assistance funds.
