Toy Drive

The Middlebury Connecticut Police Benevolent Association is sponsoring a toy drive Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dinova’s Four Corners Grocery Store at 600 Middlebury Road in Middlebury. Donate a new, unwrapped gift and bring a smile to a child’s face this holiday season. Cash donations also will be accepted.

Those who can’t get to the drive Saturday can drop off their donations next week at the police station at 200 Southford Road in Middlebury. Donations will support local children and families.

Christmas tree lighting on the green

The annual tree lighting and Christmas caroling around the Green (with a visit from Santa) will be Saturday, Dec. 7, at 4 p.m. on the Green.

Waterbury Chorale Concert

The Waterbury Chorale will present its holiday concert, “’Tis the Season,” Friday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 49 South St. in Litchfield and Sunday, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m. at St. John’s on the Green at 16 Church St. in Waterbury. Gingerbread Village & Christmas Bazaar

St. George’s Episcopal Church on Tucker Hill Road in Middlebury celebrates its 52nd year of offering a Gingerbread Village and Christmas Bazaar from Saturday, Dec. 7, through Saturday, Dec. 14. The event includes a bake shoppe, decorate your own cookie, dollar store, Christmas crafts, basket raffle, Saturday luncheons and a breakfast buffet

The Saturday luncheons Dec. 7 and 14 will be served from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The breakfast buffet will be Saturday, Dec. 14, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. The buffet costs $10 for adults and $5 for children under 8. For more information, visit gingerbreadvillagect.com. Village hours are:

Church Fair

The Roxbury Congregational Church holiday fair, “Country Church Christmas Fair,” will be Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bid on antiques; buy Christmas stocking stuffers and holiday gift baskets; pick up a festive holiday wreath; stock up on homemade preserves, Cabot Cheese and baked goods; browse through old books; and enjoy lunch with some friends.

The fair, long a favorite among those hunting for unusual gifts, will feature two silent auctions, an auction of donated items of value including antiques, art, hard goods and home goods as well as an auction for donated goods and services from local and regional stores.

A hearty lunch served from 11 a.m. will feature homemade sandwiches and soups. Children can make simple crafts in the Children’s Corner. Nice Twice will offer used items and bargains. Also being offered is the popular Fellowship Table cookbook authored by church members.

Naugatuck open house

The Naugatuck Historical Society cordially invites you to a holiday reception at the Tuttle House Sunday, Dec. 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. Come enjoy light refreshments and hear about the progress being made on the museum. The house will be decorated for the holiday by the Naugatuck Garden Club. This event is free and open to the public. The Naugatuck History Museum at the Tuttle House is at 380 Church St. in Naugatuck.
